Who you work with

Barbara Davis, owner

I spent nine years as a controller for a regional construction supplier before opening this practice in 2012. I started it because too many good owners were handed a stack of reports nobody had ever explained to them.

Our approach has not changed since: reconcile everything, explain everything, and never let a filing deadline arrive as a surprise. If you email me, I answer — usually the same day.

  • Advanced QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor
  • Member, National Association of Certified Public Bookkeepers
  • Thurston County Chamber of Commerce member since 2013
  • Speaker, Thurston EDC small-business finance workshops

How we work

A predictable rhythm, from first call to quarterly review

Free 30-minute consultation

We look at your current books together on a screen share, identify what is missing, and tell you plainly whether we are the right fit. There is no charge and no follow-up sales sequence.

Written scope and fixed quote

You receive a one-page engagement letter listing exactly what is included, what it costs each month, and when deliverables arrive. Nothing outside that page is billed without your written approval.

Onboarding and clean-up

We connect your bank feeds, rebuild the chart of accounts if needed, and correct historical entries. Most onboardings finish inside three weeks.

Monthly close and quarterly review

Statements land by the twelfth business day. Every quarter we meet for an hour to review trends, upcoming tax obligations and any decision you have on the table.

Client feedback

What owners say after a year with us

“Barbara took over books that two other firms had given up on. Six weeks later we had clean statements and, for the first time, a cash-flow forecast I trust.”

Miguel Arriaga, owner — Arriaga Sheet Metal, Lacey WA

“Payroll for nineteen people used to eat my Sundays. It now takes me eleven minutes to approve, and the L&I filings simply happen.”

Dana Whitlock, co-owner — Whitlock Dental Studio, Olympia WA

“The quarterly review meeting is the most useful hour of my business calendar. Plain English, real numbers, no upselling.”

Priya Raghunathan, founder — Deschutes Trail Coffee

Local practice

Rooted in Olympia and the South Sound

Our office sits at 607 Castro Street in Olympia, a short drive from the Capitol Campus. Being local matters more than people expect: we know which Washington filings trip owners up, how the Department of Revenue handles B&O classifications, and which lenders in Thurston County actually return calls.

Clients are welcome to meet in person, and we regularly drive out to job sites, clinics and shops when a conversation is easier in the room where the work happens.

Common questions

Answers before you call

Yes. Roughly half of our clients are in Lacey, Tumwater, Shelton and Tacoma, and we support remote clients across Washington State through secure document sharing and video review meetings.

QuickBooks Online is our primary platform, and we also work daily in Xero, Gusto, Square, Shopify and Bill.com. If you are on desktop software we will tell you honestly whether a migration is worth it.

Most owner-operated clients invest between $340 and $1,250 per month, depending on transaction volume, number of accounts and payroll headcount. You receive a fixed monthly quote in writing before any work begins — we do not bill by the hour for recurring work.

No. We are a bookkeeping, payroll and advisory practice. We prepare the records and workpapers, and we coordinate closely with your CPA or enrolled agent for tax filing and representation.
